Finding recess isn’t about ignoring or resisting the challenges that can come up in life; instead, it’s about introducing wellness practices into all of our spaces, be that workplace, home, or elsewhere. With a focus on play and active meditation – what I call “meditation for doers” – rest and mental mindfulness can become everyday self-care, no matter our mood or mindset.

I’m Nina, the founder of Recess Living.  

I’m a change-maker using the craft table and the dinner table to invite mental wellness practices and conversation into our everyday lives. 

I spent nearly two decades working in the TV industry, burying myself in being busy and doing too much for too long without the right support. Suffering from burnout and in desperate need of a change, creativity became my output. In getting messy I found my moments of stillness. 

Over time, I realised a powerful connection between busying my hands and quieting my mind. Recess Living was born to help you do this too.
